How We Research Each Page

Every country guide on TravelReady Guide is built from the same research process. Here is how we source, review and caveat each one.

Primary sources we rely on

  • Power plugs and voltage — the IEC World Plugs database and national electricity authority publications where available.
  • Emergency numbers — official government portals, national police and emergency service websites.
  • Tap water — national health authority guidelines and World Health Organization country data.
  • Driving side — national transport authority publications and the UN Geneva Convention on Road Traffic record.
  • Tipping — national tourism board guidance, cross-referenced with hospitality industry publications.
  • Best season — national meteorological office climate data and national tourism board seasonal guidance.

Review process

Each country page is reviewed before publication to verify that the cited sources are current and that the information on the page accurately reflects them. We mark a last-reviewed date on every country page so you can see how recently we checked.

Limitations

We focus on stable facts — plug types, driving side, emergency numbers — that rarely change. Anything time-sensitive, especially visa requirements and entry rules, can change without notice. We do not track these in real time and link the official authority on each page for current rules.

Our tap water and tipping information represents a general national picture. Regional variation exists in both; local advice may differ from what is listed.

Corrections

If you spot an error or have an official source we should cite, please contact us. We act on documented corrections quickly.
